Oxymoron: Antony & the Johnsons extravaganza

Guardian reports that New York’s Museum of Modern Art has commissioned a major multimedia project from Antony Hegarty (of Antony & The Johnsons). Hegarty’s one of the most emotive, compelling voices working today, I believe – have a listen below if you’re not yet convinced.

Apparently it would him performing some of his songs “featuring lasers and a 60-piece symphony orchestra… the production will be mounted at Radio City Music Hall on 26 January 2012.”

Can’t wait.

Here’s the full article.

And here’s one of my favourite examples of his extraordinary musical voice, from the I’m Not There OST. Hope There’s Someone is also worth a listen and a bawl.
